Frequently asked questions for ILLP

1. Why is the International Leadership Learning Programme (ILLP) closing when it is having a positive impact upon organisations?

The ILLP has undoubtedly proved to be an important learning experience for participants and their organisations. However, following a strategic review of provision offered by the National College to ensure efficiency and value for money, a decision has been taken that ILLP will close.

2. When will the programme be closing?

The ILLP will be closing at the end of December 2010.

3. I am an existing participant on ILLP, what will happen to me?

There will be no new applicants to ILLP, but existing participants will continue all programme activities as planned. All those affected by the closure will be contacted individually with further information.

4. Will another international programme be replacing the ILLP?

We are continually developing programmes designed to have a significant impact on leadership. Updates and announcements for any new programmes will be shared on our website.

5. Are there other opportunities/programmes within the College?

We offer a wide range of professional development programmes, some of which do have an international element. For further details, please explore our website.

6. How will you ensure there is no detriment to my experience as a result of the programme closure?

The National College and Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT), together with the Association of Schools and College Leaders, will continue to support all participants through their programme journey until completion; ensuring the programme continues to deliver benefits and provide a positive impact on organisational development.

7. Will I get reimbursed for previous travel arrangements I have had to re-arrange due to date changes?

You may be able to claim for expenses to the ILLP forum if costs have been incurred due to changes to the date of the workshop. Please contact illp@nationalcollege.org.uk for further details.

8. What will happen to my group/my report/my dissemination of learning once the programme has closed?

Group - the participants of groups formed as part of the programme may continue to collaborate and work together as a group. However, it would not be within the context of the ILLP.

Impact report - participants will still be expected to create and submit a group report within the designated timeframes. Once submitted, the report will be placed in the National College’s leadership library under the title of the theme explored.

Promotion of own learning - participants will still be expected to promote their learning and disseminate their knowledge to the wider system to benefit other organisations as per the programme model.

9. Who should I contact if I have questions about the current ILLP programme?
