Eligibility criteria
<p>Applicants in this category of the Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) must either be:</p>
<ul><li>seeking work as an SBM within a state-maintained school and not currently working in a school</li>
<li>employed in the private sector or other non-education sector</li>
<li>employed by a local authority, but not working in a school support role and not have access to a support school</li>
<li>currently unemployed or are undertaking voluntary work (this also applies to school governors)</li></ul>
<p>In addition to this you must also:</p>
<ul><li>have a relevant professional or academic qualification <a href="http://www.ofqual.gov.uk/qualification-and-assessment-framework/89-articles/147-equivalent-qualifications" title="www.ofqual.gov.uk/qualification-and-assessment-framework/89-articles/147-equivalent-qualifications">equivalent to NVQ level 3</a> (eg AAT, CIPD, CIPFA, AInstAM)</li>
<li>have senior administrative or management experience in one or more of the following: HR, facilities, ICT and administration. You must also have an appropriate understanding of school funding and finances </li>
<li>be able to take part in a short telephone interview to discuss your experience </li>
<li>be available to attend the mandatory two-day SBM induction workshop in Nottingham on 17 and 18 September 2012</li>
<li>be able to commit to approximately 4&#8211;8 hours of personal study time per week</li></ul>
<p>Applicants who work for education consultant companies may not be eligible for this programme. Any such applicants will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and referred accordingly.</p>
