- The research project investigated a sample of schools which had improved pupil learning outcomes over at least three consecutive years under the leadership of the same headteacher. The research explored the ways in which success is achieved in terms not only of test and examination results, but also personal and social outcomes, pupil and staff motivation, engagement and wellbeing, the quality of teaching and learning and the school's contribution to the community.
